Rolo

Type : Bonnet Macaque
Sex : Male
Age : Approx. 2 Years old on arrival
Date of Arrival : 23rd September 2008

Before Rolo came to us he spent his life attached to a meter length of chain up a tree with just a little wooden house for shelter. Because he had nothing to do he would spend the day swinging on the chain which was attached around his neck.

John spoke to the owner and showed him photos of the other rescued monkeys and where Rolo would live. The owner then willingly handed him over to us as he realized he was unhappy.

Rolo due to his former isolation does not mix well with other male monkeys, and is too aggressive to humans to go for walks. He does now share a pen with Nora.
